Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time
Salary: From £92.56 per day
Dates: April – July (Terms 5–6, with funding secured)
Location: Rochester, Kent
Are you a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference on a 1:1 basis? We are recruiting for a dedicated TA to support a pupil with an EHCP in a welcoming school in central Rochester, providing consistent, structured support to help them access learning and thrive.
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs and social communication difficulties
- Implement clear routines using visual supports, including Now and Next boards and visual timetables
- Break learning into manageable steps to support engagement and progress
- Deliver sensory circuits, movement breaks, and pre-writing activities to aid regulation
- Support the development of fine motor skills and engagement with written tasks
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant requirements:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly SEMH and communication needs
- Understanding of emotional regulation strategies and structured support approaches
- Confidence using visual supports and adapting communication methods
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
