Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Part-time – Every Friday morning (Term 4, likely to extend)
Salary: From £88.95 per day (pro rata for half day)
Dates: Immediate start – until end of term (likely to extend)
Location: Dover, Kent

A small, welcoming rural primary school with a strong community ethos is seeking a Teaching Assistant with SEND experience to join their team every Friday morning for the remainder of this term, with the potential for the role to continue.

This school prides itself on offering a broad and balanced curriculum where individual talents are nurtured, interests are encouraged and pupils are supported to become independent learners and responsible members of the community. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, ideally bringing experience from a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) or similar setting.

SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

• Provide targeted SEND support within the classroom or small group setting
• Support pupils with additional learning, communication or behavioural needs
• Work closely with the class teacher to implement strategies
• Encourage independence while ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported
• Promote a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment

SEN Teaching Assistant requirements:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND (essential)
• Experience in an SRP or specialist setting highly desirable
• Patient, consistent and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
