Role: Year 1 Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time, temporary (Term 5 with potential extension)
Salary: From £92.56 per day
Dates: 20 April – 22 May (may extend)
Location: Rochester, Kent
A supportive and values-driven Primary school in Rochester is seeking a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time for Term 5, with the potential to extend due to ongoing medical cover.

Year 1 Teaching Assistant responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher within a Year 1 classroom
- Deliver and support Read Write Inc Phonics sessions
- Work with pupils 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and progress
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with the school ethos
- Help create a structured and supportive learning environment
Year 1 Teaching Assistant requirements:
- Experience working within a KS1 classroom
- Knowledge or experience of Read Write Inc Phonics (essential)
- Ability to commit to full-time hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30–3:30)
- Positive, patient and proactive approach to supporting young learners
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
