Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Temporary with potential for long-term (to discuss September onwards)
Salary: £74.50 - £90 per day
Dates: ASAP
Location: Tunbridge Wells

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on a child's educational journey? We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 student with high-level SEN requirements. This rewarding role will require you to use your initiative and varied methods to help improve the student's learning focus. Working 1:1 you'll be working alongside another Teaching Assistant as a jobshare to help this student succeed. You'll adopt a collaborative approach together with discussions to be had for development into a longer-term position to allow consistency for the student.

The ideal 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant will:

  • Provide personalised support to a Year 2 student with high-level SEN requirements in a mainstream school
  • Utilise innovative techniques to engage the student in their learning
  • Monitor and record the student's progress and adapt strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants and SENCO to implement individualised learning plans

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one support tailored to the student's specific needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage social interaction and development of life skills
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding the student's progress

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant requirements:

  • Experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education (desirable but not essential)
  • Minimum GCSE English & Maths in grade C/4 or above
